Tuorlan observatoriossa saatiin yhteys etnologeihin toisesta ulottuvuudesta, komeetalta 139P Väisälä-Oterma. Nyt he ovat TÄÄLLÄ! Tutkijat Mäki ja Saarikoski apulaisineen saapuvat keräämään etnologian päivien osallistujien akateemisia affekteja. Heidän biomekaaninen laitteistonsa kykenee tuottamaan fyysisen olomuodon tuntemuksille tässä todellisuudessa. Tule luodattavaksi ja tee tulkintasi laitteiston materialisoimasta affektistasi.
Affektilaitteisto-performanssi on viimeksi näyttäytynyt Olohuone306-taidefestivaaleilla ja laitteiston osia on ollut esillä Turun Taidehallilla. Jaana Saarikoski ja Maija Mäki, affektilaitteiston rakentajat ja käyttäjät, ovat taidelähtöisestä tiedontuottamisesta kiinnostuneita etnologeja. Laitteisto on rakennettu materiaaleista Tuorlan observatoriolta.
Affekteja voi saapua luotaamaan omatahtisesti klo 11.00 alkaen, kun affektilaitteisto käynnistyy.

Affect workshop from another reality

The Tuorla Observatory was able to contact ethnologists from another dimension, comet 139P Väisälä-Oterma. Now they are HERE! Researchers Mäki and Saarikoski and their assistants arrive to collect the academic affects of the participants of the Ethnology Days. Their biomechanical apparatus is capable of producing a physical state of sensation in this reality. Come to be sounded and make your interpretation of your affect, materialized by the hardware.
The Affect Equipment performance was last shown at the Living Room306 art festival and parts of the equipment have been on display at Kunsthalle Turku. Jaana Saarikoski and Maija Mäki, builders and users of affect equipment, are ethnologists interested in art-based knowledge production. The equipment is built with materials from the Tuorla Observatory.
Affects can be sounded at your own pace from 11:00 a.m. when the affect equipment starts.
Illanvietto Helsingin Kaupunginmuseolla / Evening get-together at the Helsinki City Museum
Vietämme yhteistä seminaari-iltaa 14.3. Helsingin kaupunginmuseolla (Aleksanterinkatu 16) kello 19.00 alkaen. Ennen illanviettoa ja myös sen aikana seminaarilaisilla on mahdollisuus tutustua museon näyttelyyn, jota taustoitetaan klo 18.00. Iltatilaisuus museolla päättyy klo 23.30
Illanviettoon ilmoittaudutaan erikseen ilmoittautumislomakkeella. Illalliskortin hinta on 60 euroa.

We are gathering to spend the evening together on 14 March at Helsinki City Museum (Aleksanterinkatu 16) from 19.00 onwards. Before and during the gathering seminar participants have an opportunity to see the museum exhibit, of which will be provided background information at 18.00. The evening event at the museum ends at 23.30.
Sign up for the evening will be done separately via the sign up form. Price for the dinner card is 60 euros.
